Reasons of Jesus Giving Peter Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven

I Was Confused When Reading the Scriptures

This morning, after the morning prayer, I opened the Bible and read chapter 16, verse 19 of the Gospel of Matthew where the Lord Jesus said to Peter, “And I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” When reading the verses, I thought: There were twelve disciples of the Lord Jesus, but why did He give the keys to Peter rather than the others? What did Peter do so that the Lord was so pleased with him? If I can figure these questions out and act according to Peter’s actions, then won’t I also earn the Lord’s praise and in the future enter into the kingdom of heaven? However, I still didn’t make them clear after reading these verses several times and then I had to eat breakfast first and go to work.

Christian Praise Hymn | “God’s Authority Is Immeasurable”

Verse 1
The authority of God
does not flicker on and off,
neither does it come and go.
Nobody can measure
just how great and just how strong it is.

Verse 2
When God gives one a promise,
doesn’t matter what they do,
where they live, or their background
before or after the promise,
before or after the promise,
He’s familiar with everything.

I Finally Know How to Pray to Be Heard by God

I was born into a Catholic family, and since I was young, I observed all kinds of religious rituals with my parents, among which various prayers impressed me most. Rosary prayer was the most basic one we Catholic had to keep. Every night we would pray the Rosary. First, we made the sign of the cross with the crucifix on our fingers and prayed the Apostles’ Creed; next, we prayed the Our Father, ten Hail Marys, the Glory Be, and prayed mysteries for each of the five sections of the rosary, and then prayed a Hail Mary. The prayers were very long, and it was really not easy to finish all of them.

“Nine-day prayer” was also another kind of prayer in Catholicism, which meant praying for the same wish for nine days in a row so as to gain the Lord’s favor and help. We also had a prayer-book, in which there were different prayers for different wishes. Before praying, we would intensively meditate on our wishes; then we would read the related words in the book; after finishing these words, we would say Our Father, Hail Mary, The Glory Be, then meditate, and say the Closing Prayer to end the prayer. It was really not easy to finish this prayer either, and at that time I thought it a godly manner. But as time went on, I found that many of my wishes failed to come true. I couldn’t help but start to wonder: “Isn’t it said that as long as we pray for the same wish for 9 days in a row then it will come true? Why haven’t my wishes been realized? If such prayer cannot help us get our wishes, then why do we keep praying in such a way?” Thus I became somewhat unwilling to attend this prayer, but seeing everyone else in the church did so, I had no choice but to keep on acting this way.

Why Did the Pharisees Resist Jesus the Messiah?

After revealing the truth of the history and taking warning from it, we will be able to make a correct choice at the crucial moment of welcoming the Lord’s return. Therefore, today I’d like to share with you: Why did the Pharisees oppose the Lord Jesus?

by Li Yue

All brothers and sisters following the Lord know this: In the beginning, when the Lord Jesus came to do His work, the Jewish Pharisees wildly defied and condemned Him and finally nailed Him to the cross, committing a heinous crime. Though the Lord Jesus’ cursing of the Pharisees was written in the New Testament, few people have known the true reason of the Pharisees’ resistance and condemnation of the Lord Jesus. Having fellowshiped this problem many times with my co-workers, I still couldn’t see through the root of it. It was not until I met a preacher who had believed in the Lord for years and listened to his communication that I understood this aspect of the truth. I truly felt: At the critical juncture of welcoming the Lord’s arrival, if we understand this aspect of the truth, we can avoid walking the way of resisting and condemning God as the Pharisees did. Now I’d like to share my understanding with you.

The right attitude to welcome the Lord: Humble seeking reaps blessings, thirsting for righteousness brings fulfillment

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:3).

God says, “The return of Jesus is a great salvation for those who are capable of accepting the truth, but for those who are unable to accept the truth it is a sign of condemnation. You should choose your own path, and should not blaspheme against the Holy Spirit and reject the truth. You should not be an ignorant and arrogant person, but someone who obeys the guidance of the Holy Spirit and longs for and seeks the truth; only in this way will you benefit. I advise you to tread the path of belief in God with care. Do not jump to conclusions; what is more, do not be casual and thoughtless in your belief in God. You should know that, at the very least, those who believe in God should be humble and reverential. Those who have heard the truth and yet turn their nose up at it are foolish and ignorant. Those who have heard the truth and yet carelessly jump to conclusions or condemn it are beset by arrogance. No one who believes in Jesus is qualified to curse or condemn others. You should all be someone with sense and who accepts the truth. Perhaps, having heard the way of truth and having read the word of life, you believe that only one in 10,000 of these words are in line with your convictions and the Bible, and then you should continue to seek in that 10,000th of these words. I still advise you to be humble, to not be over-confident, and to not exalt yourself too highly. With your heart holding such meager reverence for God, you will gain greater light. If you carefully examine and repeatedly contemplate these words, you shall understand whether or not they are the truth, and whether or not they are life. Perhaps, having only read a few sentences, some people will blindly condemn these words, saying, ‘This is nothing more than some enlightenment of the Holy Spirit,’ or, ‘This is a false Christ come to deceive people.’ Those who say such things are blinded by ignorance! You understand too little of the work and wisdom of God, and I advise you to start again from scratch! You must not blindly condemn the words expressed by God because of the appearance of false Christs during the last days, and you must not be someone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit because you fear deception. Would that not be a great pity? If, after much examination, you still believe that these words are not the truth, are not the way, and are not the expression of God, then you shall ultimately be punished, and you shall be without blessings. If you cannot accept such truth spoken so plainly and so clearly, then are you not unfit for God’s salvation? Are you not someone who is not blessed enough to return before the throne of God? Think about it! Do not be rash and impetuous, and do not treat belief in God as a game. Think for the sake of your destination, for the sake of your prospects, for the sake of your life, and do not play yourself. Can you accept these words?”

For What Kind of People Is the Sin Offering Effective?

Many people think that as long as they believe in the Lord Jesus, then no matter what sins they have committed, the Lord will forgive all of their sins and that the sin offering remains in effect. But some other people don’t agree with this viewpoint. Who is right on earth? Please read the following article.

By Xiaoyu

In the evening, Xiaoruo sat in front of the computer browsing the comments left by brothers and sisters in the groups. She saw a sister’s comment, “I’m often distressed for failing to keep the Lord’s teachings and committing sins unknowingly. Though I confess my sins to the Lord and repent every day, I’m still unsure in my heart: Can I really gain the Lord’s pardon if I sin and confess like this all the time? I’m worried that I will be abandoned by the Lord if I continue on like this.”

English Christian Song With Lyrics “Since God Saves Man, He Will Save Them Completely”

I
Though the work of conquest is reached
by God’s purging of man’s prospects,
man will be ultimately led
to the proper place God prepared.
Because it is God who works man,
their destination is assured.
Since God created man, He leads them.
Since He saves, He’ll thoroughly save them.
Man He’ll completely gain.
Since He created man and manages them,
He must be responsible for their fate.
He’ll bring them to their proper destination.
And this is the work done by the Creator.

Matthew 6:1 – God’s Requirements for Us

Thoughts on Today’s Verse

This is the Lord Jesus’ demands on us. No matter what we do, regardless of whether it is a big thing or a small thing, God hopes that we should do it before God not before man, in order to obey God and satisfy God’s requirements, not to obtain honor of others. But a lot of time, we do things to make our brothers and sisters think highly of us, as well as to win the praise of pastors and elders, just as God says: “Everything he did was actually human goodness and he did not at all seek the truth, and everything he has done was in vain because it was all done in front of people and not before God, and moreover was not practiced in accordance with God’s requirements and in accordance with the truth. Everything he did was not practicing the truth or God’s word, and moreover was not carrying out God’s will. Rather, he was using man’s kind-heartedness and good behavior to help people. In summation, he did not seek God’s intentions in anything he did, nor did he do it in accordance with God’s requirements. Therefore, in God’s eyes, people’s good behavior is condemned and not commemorated” (“Knowing Yourself Requires Knowing Your Deep-rooted Thoughts and Views”). God’s words make me think of hypocritical Pharisees. When they donated, they deliberately let others see. When they prayed, they stood at crossroads on purpose. They pretended godly before men. On the contrary, they didn’t obey the commandments and demands of God. All that they have done is to establish themselves and bring man before them, so they were not commemorated by God, but condemned by God. Today, if we see brothers and sisters in a passive state, we’ll provide and support them. If we see someone in trouble, we will help them. But if what we do is just to let others praise us, and have our place in their hearts, not to care about and carry out God’s will, in the same way, such “good deeds” as we do are in vain, and we shall not receive God’s praise.

Goats and Sheep Are Separated!

In February, 1999, the jealousy and strife among the co-workers in our church made me upset and low-spirited. I could not feel the presence of the Lord, had no enjoyment when listening to the sermons of the pastors, and received no light when reading the Bible by myself, feeling very thirsty in my spirit. One day, Sister Tian suddenly came to my home and took me to listen to a sermon. At that time, Sister Cheng fellowshiped with us the three stages of God’s work: the Age of Law, the Age of Grace, and the Age of Kingdom, the relationship among them and the result to be achieved in each stage of work. Moreover, she explained to us what incarnation is. And she told us that Almighty God is just Christ incarnate in the last days, has expressed all the truths of salvation of mankind, and has brought the way of eternal life to man, and all these have fulfilled the prophecies in Revelation: “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last” (Revelation 22:13). “He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” (Revelation 3:13). “For as the lightning, that lightens out of the one part under heaven, shines to the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day. But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation” (Luke 17:24-25). In the end, she sang the song called The Savior Has Long Ago Returned for us. Hearing the sister’s fellowship, I became certain that Almighty God is the Lord Jesus’ second coming. I felt very pleased in my heart, for the time when the Lord comes back has finally come. What’s more, He has expressed so many words to mankind. I must tell this great news to the brothers and sisters who are waiting for the Lord Jesus’ coming back. However, before long, the pastors and elders knew the news that I had accepted God’s work in the last days. Since then I have had no quiet life any longer due to their disturbance.

Reflection About Life: What Can Bring Us Real Happiness?

Everyone wishes to have a successful life surrounded by others’ admiration and praise, and we throw everything into this pursuit. But few have ever reflected upon this: What can bring us real happiness? What is the most valuable thing we should pursue? This article will explore the meaning of life with you.

In order to be successful and lead a superior lifestyle, I, just like all my friends in my village, had been working hard to equip myself with various skills.

Several years later, we all grew up and had our own family and career. Among my friends, some had a company of their own, some bought a car worth millions and returned home a man of wealth, and some had carved out a place in their business. Yet compared with them, I just had a stable family and a pretty ordinary life with no fame, fancy car, or big mansion. Unwilling to be left behind, I then started up my own pig farming business.
