Since the prophecies of the second coming of Christ have been basically fulfilled, has the Lord come back? If so, why haven't we welcomed the Lord? Where can we find the Lord's footprints?
reading Matthew 24:36, “But of that day and hour knows no man, not the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but My Father only.” She thought to herself: “If no one knows the day of the Lord’s return, then how should we welcome Him? Now is the end of the last day. The disasters are getting greater. The omens of the Lord’s return have basically all been fulfilled. Maybe one day the Lord will come back, but so far I still haven’t known how to welcome His return.” Thinking of this, Zhang Qing couldn’t help standing up and then paced back and forth in her room. At that point, she thought of how, when visiting her the other day, her sister-in-law said that she went out to listen to a few sermons about the Lord’s coming and that there was light in them. So Zhang Qing decided to seek from her.
Now, disasters are getting worse and worse, and the four blood moons have appeared. From various signs it can be said with some certainty: The day of the Lord has come; the Lord will come to reap and rapture Christians at any minute. But how to be watchful and wait for the Lord’s return? How to wait to conform to the Lord’s will? What does it mean to be watchful? Jiayin sensed that she was not clear about these questions, and then commenced a discussion with her co-workers.
I think that watching mainly refers to praying and reading the Bible often, working for the Lord diligently, and moderation in all things. Just as the Bible says: ‘And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming’ (1 John 2:28). Therefore, as Christians, we should be careful and mindful of ourselves like this every day. Then we will face the Lord with confidence at His coming. Now we keep on watching and praying in turn around the clock in our church, and we’ve also set up a watchtower. Only if we watch and wait like this will we not be abandoned when the Lord returns.”
Nowadays, the last days have arrived. I believe that the brothers and sisters from different denominations are all paying close attention to the return of the Lord Jesus. The Lord once promised us: “I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:2-3). For this reason, we are all eagerly expecting that the Lord will come again to bring us into the kingdom of heaven. However, with regard to the means of the Lord’s return, each denomination has a different understanding of it. There are mainly two points of view.
Pastor Lee failed to put in and, seeing they had a heated discussion, he was a little unhappy. Then he folded his arms to conceal his embarrassment. After calming himself, he challenged Preacher Ju’s view and disapprovingly said, “According to your statements that the Lord’s return will be secret at first, and will only become public later, then what work will the Lord do between the time of His return and His public appearance?”
I had believed in the Lord for many years. Like most of the brothers and sisters in the Lord, I was waiting for the Lord’s return at every moment; especially when I saw the fulfillment of prophecies of the Lord’s return, my heart would feel eager. The Bible says: “You men of Galilee, why stand you gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11). At that time, the Lord just left upon a white cloud; now the signs of the Lord’s return have all appeared, but why have I still not seen the Lord coming with a cloud to take us? I felt very anxious and worried, deeply fearful that I would miss the Lord’s return. Thus, I often prayed to the Lord to ask Him to lead me so that I could understand how I could better welcome His return and not cast off.
Facing the day when the Lord appears, every brother and sister, who have true faith in the Lord, will hope that we can be the wise virgins, and that we can welcome the bridegroom and have supper with the Lord. Some of us often read the Bible and pray, watching and preparing; some choose to work tirelessly, sacrificing and expending themselves; others regularly attend meetings, attentively waiting for the arrival of the Lord. … Everyone is spending for the Lord, preparing for and awaiting the Lord’s second coming in our own ways and is firmly convinced that we are the wise virgins and that, in this way, we can certainly welcome the return of the Lord. But is our preparing oil like this after the Lord’s heart? What are the wise virgins after all? How should the wise virgins prepare oil to welcome the Lord?
