God loves the humble and hates the arrogant. Without humbleness, you can neither get through your Christian walk of faith nor be able to do God’s will. The scriptures record, “Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:3). This shows that God blesses the poor in spirit. Only the poor in spirit are able to gain true knowledge of God, listen to the Lord’s words, and concentrate on serving the Lord. Share with you the following selection of Bible verses about humble as encouragements, let’s make progress together on the path of serving God.
Do you know what is the hottest topic on Facebook now? It is about how to welcome the Lord’s return! How do netizens discuss this topic? Some people think that greeting the Lord’s return merely requires that we wait for the Lord coming among clouds. Others think that the key to welcoming the Lord’s coming is to listen to thevoice of God. This is because the Lord Jesus once said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” (John 10:27), and “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20). The Lord’s these words mention the keyword “My voice”. This means that the Lord will speak more words when He comes again. Therefore, if we want to welcome the Lord, we must listen to the new words of the returned Lord.

One day, when I preached, I spoke of the great disaster that was going to come. So I exhorted brothers and sisters to attend meetings actively, put more effort in the Bible, and follow the Lord’s way in real life, so that we could watch and wait for the return of the Lord. But I saw some brothers and sisters remain weak and full of doubts whether they could be raptured to the kingdom of heaven. Then I explained, “Brothers and sisters, the Bible says, ‘For with the heart man believes to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation’ (Rom 10:10). As long as we believe in the Lord in our hearts and confirm our belief in Him with our words, our faith will allow us to obtain eternal salvation. When the Lord comes again, we will surely be raptured to the kingdom of heaven.” Hearing what I said, brothers and sisters were all happy and they had some strength. At this moment, co-worker Zhang stood up and said, “I’m not sure. The Lord Jesus said, ‘But he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven’ (Mat 7:21). This clearly tells us that only those who do the will of God can enter the kingdom of heaven. Although we have been saved, we’re still committing sins during the day and repenting at night. This’s not doing the will of the heavenly Father. I think we still will be unable to enter the kingdom of heaven.”
“And I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:19).
In believing in God, you must at least resolve the issue of having a normal relationship with God. Without a normal relationship with God, then the significance in believing in God is lost. Establishing a normal relationship with God is entirely attained through quieting your heart in God’s presence. A normal relationship with God means being able to not doubt or deny any of God’s work and submit to it, and furthermore it means having the right intentions in the presence of God, not thinking of yourself, always having the interests of God’s family as the most important thing no matter what you are doing, accepting God’s observation, and submitting to God’s arrangements. You are able to quiet your heart in God’s presence whenever you do anything; even if you do not understand God’s will, you must still fulfill your duties and responsibilities to the best of your ability. It is not too late to wait for God’s will to be revealed to you and then put this into practice. When your relationship with God has become normal, then you will also have a normal relationship with people. Everything is established on the foundation of God’s words. Through eating and drinking the words of God, practice in accordance with God’s requirements, put your viewpoints right, and do not do things that resist God or disturb the church. Do not do things that do not benefit the lives of the brothers and sisters, do not say things that do not contribute to other people, do not do shameful things. Be just and honorable when doing all things and make them presentable before God. Even though the flesh is weak sometimes, you are able to attach the highest importance to benefiting God’s family, not covet your own benefits, and carry out righteousness. If you can practice in this way, your relationship with God will be normal.
I’m a preacher in a church, but I have nothing worthy of preaching and am unable to provide the brothers and sisters with anything useful. Their faith has generally become weak and insipid, and during congregations they either doze off or chat in low voices. Seeing this scene being regularly played out in the church always makes me very upset. I’ve prayed to the Lord many times, and on many occasions have reminded the brothers and sisters to be alert and watchful, but because they haven’t been able to welcome the Lord’s return they have lost their faith. No matter what I do, it isn’t enough to bring the church back to life. And now it’s the last days and even the unbelievers know that great catastrophes are about to occur, so it stands to reason that the Lord should return. But why haven’t we been able to greet Him? Will we really be able to welcome the Lord’s return just by watching the clouds and sky? My heart has really been a mess until recently!
