What’s Faith in God? God’s Demands Are Clear

By Miao Xiao

Every brother and sister in the Lord has their own different experiences of coming before God. However, so similar are most Christians’ experiences of faith in God after believing in the Lord: We read the Bible and pray to the Lord day after day, go to the church for gatherings regularly, spread the Lord Jesus’ salvation to our relatives and friends ardently, bear the cross, practice tolerance, patience, and loving others as ourselves and so on. In doing so, we think that we are believing in God. Moreover, we are envious of those brothers and sisters who know the Bible thoroughly, sacrifice and labor tirelessly for the Lord. Most of us think this kind of faith in God should be commended by Him. And we think if we believe in God this way, we will surely be raptured into the kingdom of heaven when the Lord Jesus returns.

Does the Rapture Really Mean Being Taken up to Heaven?

Many believers in the Lord long to be taken up to the sky where they can meet with the Lord when the Lord returns. Now disasters grow worse and worse; the prophecies of the Lord’s return have been basically fulfilled; the Lord is very likely to have returned. However, many people are confused: If the Lord has returned, why have we not seen that anyone is raptured to heaven? What’s going on here? Let’s see what the Lord Jesus said: “Our Father which are in heaven, Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven” (Mat 6:9-10). The Book of Revelation also prophesied: “And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven … And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God” (Rev 21:2-3). “The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever” (Rev 11:15). These prophecies mention “coming down from God out of heaven,” “the tabernacle of God is with men,” and “the kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ.” It shows that God will establish His kingdom on earth and the destination God arranges for man is also on earth. Yet we always want to be raptured to heaven. Is that not our notion and imagination?

How to Understand “I Come as a Thief” in Revelation 16:15

How the Lord Will Come

Speaking of how the Lord will come in the last days, most brothers and sisters will go by the Bible verse: “[T]hey shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory” (Matthew 24:30), and believe that the Lord will definitely come in the clouds in His resurrected spiritual body with glory. But there are still some people who are perplexed about this statement, because Revelation prophesied, “Behold, I come as a thief” (Revelation 16:15). “If therefore you shall not watch, I will come on you as a thief, and you shall not know what hour I will come on you” (Revelation 3:3). The Lord said plainly that He would come as a thief. So to speak, He would come at a time unknown to people. If the Lord came in the clouds, wouldn’t everyone see Him? If so, how would the prophecy of the Lord coming as a thief be fulfilled? This is a mystery to many people. Now, let us have a fellowship on these problems.

How can we welcome the coming of the Lord? This is a big question for us believers in God. In the last days, whether we can enter the kingdom of heaven depends on whether we can welcome the Lord’s return and attend the marriage banquet of the Lamb. In order to welcome the Lord’s return, we often watch and wait, but do we know how to watch and wait to meet the Lord? I believe the three points below can show us the way.

Do You Know the Secret to Welcoming the Lord’s Return?

By Guo Jin

One morning in early summer, a fiery red sun rose from the east. After breakfast, Zhao Yu remembered that she had made an appointment with Sister Zhou Hui and Sister Fang Xia in their church that day; looking at the clock and realizing that she would be late, she hurried to the church. As soon as she came into the room, she heard Sister Zhou Hui and Sister Fang Xia discussing something.

Can We Enter the Kingdom of Heaven After We Receive Forgiveness of Sins

By Xiao Ye

Liu Xin and Yang Yu went to Chen Li’s house to attend a class reunion at the appointed time. On the way there, Liu Xin reflected on herself: “In this period, I always live in the condition of committing and confessing sins and can’t live out the requirements of the Lord. If this continues, can I enter the kingdom of heaven?” Recently, some of the brothers and sisters were absorbed in making money and Liu Xin had to remind them of the meetings. So she had a prejudice against and a critical view of them within. Then when she thought of what the Bible says, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” (Heb 12:14), “Be you holy; for I am holy” (1Pe 1:16), she felt guilty in her heart. She thought to herself, “I have believed in God for many years, but I still live in the situation of sinning each day and confessing each night. I can’t treat the brothers and sisters with love, tolerance, forbearance, or understanding. If this goes on, how can I be worthy to see the Lord’s face?” As Liu Xin was thinking, Yang Yu said, “We haven’t gathered together for a long time. I wonder whether Wu Yue has time to come.” Liu Xin nodded her head and said, “Yeah. Among our classmates, she has a solid foundation for her faith in God, and she is also a preacher in the church. She has a pure understanding of the Bible and is able to communicate pure knowledge in her preaching. I’m not sure whether she will be there. I just have a question to ask her.” “Oh, well we’ll know after we get there,” Yang Yu said. So they quickened their pace to walk to Chen Li’s house.

Jesus’ Words to His Disciples After His Resurrection

(Jhn 20:26-29) And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the middle, and said, Peace be to you. Then said he to Thomas, Reach here your finger, and behold my hands; and reach here your hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said to him, My LORD and my God. Jesus said to him, Thomas, because you have seen me, you have believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

(Jhn 21:16-17) He said to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, love you me? He said to him, Yes, Lord; you know that I love you. He said to him, Feed my sheep. He said to him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, love you me? Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, Love you me? And he said to him, Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my sheep.
