Does God Listen to Our Prayers? How to Properly Pray to God

By Zhong Cheng

Editor’s note: Many Christians believe that the longer they pray and the more they say in prayer, the more likely their prayer is to be heard. Is this really how it is? The Lord Jesus said, “But when you pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking” (Matthew 6:7). These words of the Lord demonstrated clearly that He isn’t pleased with these types of prayers. So how should we properly pray to God? Recently, Wang Fang, through the fellowship of her daughter Rui, has understood how to have her prayers heard by the Lord.

Have You Welcomed the Lord Jesus’ Return?

By Zhang Liang

Have you welcomed the Lord’s second coming?

Since I believed in the Lord, in order to welcome the Lord Jesus’ return and be raptured to the kingdom of heaven, I have been passionate, preaching the gospel, sustaining the weak brothers and sisters and so on. However, although many years passed, I didn’t see the Lord come to rapture us into the kingdom of heaven. Instead, the faith and love of brothers and sisters in the church were getting colder and colder. In 2002, I suddenly heard that the Lord has already come back to take true believers in Him into the kingdom of heaven. Right then, I had an immediate thought: It’s impossible. The Lord Jesus should come upon a cloud. Afterward, I inquired the brothers and sisters in varying churches about the news that the Lord has come back. They all shook their heads, saying, “That’s impossible. The Lord will come back with a cloud. We all haven’t seen it yet. So, He hasn’t come back.” So I was even more certain that the Lord should come back with a cloud. I could not accept it if the Lord has not come back on a cloud.

The Creator’s Sincere Feelings Toward Mankind

People often say that it is not an easy thing to know God. I, however, say that knowing God is not a difficult matter at all, for God frequently allows man to witness His deeds. God has never ceased His dialogue with mankind; He has never concealed Himself from man, nor has He hidden Himself. His thoughts, His ideas, His words and His deeds are all revealed to mankind. Therefore, so long as man wishes to know God, he can come to understand and know Him through all sorts of means and methods. The reason why man blindly thinks that God has intentionally avoided him, that God has intentionally hidden Himself from humanity, that God has no intention of allowing man to understand and know Him, is that he does not know who God is, nor does he wish to understand God; even more so, he is not concerned with the Creator’s thoughts, words or deeds…. Truthfully speaking, if one only uses their idle time to focus upon and understand the Creator’s words or deeds, and pay a little attention to the Creator’s thoughts and the voice of His heart, it will not be difficult for them to realize that the Creator’s thoughts, words and deeds are visible and transparent. Likewise, it will take little effort to realize that the Creator is among man at all times, that He is always in conversation with man and the entirety of creation, and that He is performing new deeds every day. His substance and disposition are expressed in His dialogue with man; His thoughts and ideas are revealed completely in His deeds; He accompanies and observes mankind at all times. He speaks quietly to mankind and all of creation with His silent words: I am in the heavens, and I am amongst My creation. I am keeping watch; I am waiting; I am at your side…. His hands are warm and strong; His footsteps are light; His voice is soft and graceful; His form passes and turns, embracing all of mankind; His countenance is beautiful and gentle. He has never left, nor has He vanished. From dawn to dusk, He is mankind’s constant companion. His devoted care and special affection for humanity, as well as His true concern and love for man, were displayed bit by bit when He saved the city of Nineveh. In particular, the exchange between Jehovah God and Jonah laid barer the Creator’s pity for the mankind He Himself created. Through these words, you can obtain a deep understanding of God’s sincere feelings for humanity …

Only When We Achieve True Repentance Can We Enter the Heavenly Kingdom

We posted this question, many brothers and sisters expressed their views one after another, of which many people said that they should repent to God. Thank God! It is a good thing that we can have the heart to repent. But if we want to achieve true repentance, only the willingness to repent is not enough. We still need to know what true repentance is and how to have true repentance. Next, let’s communicate this issue together.

What’s true repentance? Some say, “As long as we pray to the Lord and confess our sins more often, practice humility and patience, and have a lot of good deeds, this means that we have had true repentance. But the Bible says, ‘Holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord’ (Hebrews 12:14). We still sin and resist God involuntarily every day, is this true repentance?

Acts 1:11 – The Ascension of Jesus

This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven.

– Acts 1:11

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

The Lord Jesus predicted that He would come again when ascending to heaven. Since it is a prophecy, we can’t understand it according to its literal meaning, for the thoughts of God shall always be higher than the thoughts of man, and the wisdom of God is unfathomable to man. After being corrupted by Satan, we are full of notions and imaginations about God, how can we accurately grasp God’s intentions and know how God will do His future work? Think back to the prophecies concerning the coming of the Messiah in the Old Testament, and none of them was fulfilled in accordance with the literal meaning or our imaginations. Take for example the fulfillment of this prophecy: “Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son.” When people read this prophecy, they thought that a virgin would certainly have no husband. However, when the prophecy was fulfilled, the fact they saw was that Mary, who had a husband, gave birth to Jesus. The Israelites of that time saw the fact didn’t tally with the prophecy at all. They drew a conclusion that Jesus was not the Messiah and refused to accept the fact of God’s work. Now, many people acknowledge that the prophecies have been fulfilled and the Lord has returned. Therefore, when it comes to the second coming of Jesus, we shouldn’t define God’s work based upon our notions and imaginations like the Pharisees, otherwise we will be eliminated. In fact, there are many other prophecies about the second coming of Jesus in the Bible, such as: “If therefore you shall not watch, I will come on you as a thief” (Rev 3:3). “For in such an hour as you think not the Son of man comes” (Mat 24:44). “The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looks not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of” (Mat 24:50). “Behold, he comes with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him” (Rev 1:7). From these verses we can know that Jesus will first come in secret and do work in a day when man looks not for Him, and then appear publicly when His work is completed. And on that day even those who pierced him shall see Him, and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him. The prophecies shall surely be fulfilled, but how and when they will be fulfilled are not according to our imaginations. May God guide us to ponder more and understand this aspect of the truth. Amen!

God’s Own Identity and Position

1. God is the One who rules over all things, God is the One who governs all things. He created everything and governs everything, He also rules over and supplies everything. This is God’s position, and this is God’s identity. To everything and all things, God’s true identity is the Creator, and also the Ruler of all things. God has such an identity, which is unique among all things. No created being, among mankind or in the spiritual realm, can assume or replace God’s identity or God’s position in any way or on any pretext. This is because there is only One among all things who has such identity, such power, and such authority, and who can rule over all things. He is our unique God Himself, He is our unique God Himself.

2. He lives among all things and walks among all things. He can also ascend to the highest and above all things. He can humble Himself and become a man, becoming a member of men who have blood and flesh, who have blood and flesh, be face to face with men, and share joys and sufferings with men. At the same time, He governs everything, decides the destiny of everything, and decides the direction for everything to go forward. Furthermore, He guides the destiny of all mankind and guides the direction for all mankind to go forward. Anyone who has life should worship, obey, and know such a God. Therefore, no matter which part you are of among mankind, and no matter what kind of person you are among mankind, to believe in God, follow God, fear God, accept God’s sovereignty, accept God’s sovereignty, and accept God’s arrangement for your destiny, this is the only choice and obligatory choice, the only choice and obligatory choice for anyone, anyone who has life.

2 Principles for Discerning Between the True Christ and False Ones

Liu Yong

One may ask: In the Bible, we saw the Lord Jesus say, “Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many” (Matthew 24:4-5). “Then if any man shall say to you, See, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Why if they shall say to you, Behold, He is in the desert; go not forth: behold, He is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines even to the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” (Matthew 24:23–27). The Lord Jesus clearly tells us that false Christs will appear in the last days to deceive man. We believe that we won’t be deceived as long as we hold on to the name of the Lord Jesus. We won’t accept any news preaching the Lord has returned unless He is called the Lord Jesus. Because false Christs will come in the name of the Lord, saying they are here or there and displaying signs to deceive many people. So, we believe this is the right implementation. Since Almighty God is the return of the Lord Jesus as you said, would you please fellowship about how to discern the true Christ from false ones in order not to be deceived?
